To obtain your Driver Education Learner Permit, you will need:
- To be at least 15 years of age at time of enrollment.
- Starting July 1, 2012, driver education students will be required to pass a written test and present a valid CDE form to receive a driver education permit. Students may enroll in driver education, and may complete any or all of the classroom portion of the course without having to pass a written test. However, they must pass a written test before a permit will be issued. They will NOT be required to take the written test again when they apply for their license.
- To provide proof of identity and lawful status (original birth certificate), your social security card, and two documents to establish Indiana residency (bank statement, ID card, etc.) Log on to www..in.gov/bmv/ for a current ID list.
- To successfully pass the standard vision screening test.
If less than 18 years of age, have a parent/guardian sign the financial responsibility agreement.
Behind-The-Wheel-Only Program: Adults (16 & Older)
